Starting September 2011 there will be a market the 3rd sunday of each month, 9h to 13h, Place du Château
At the initiative of a group of local producers, a market was started in Jumilhac around 20 years ago.
It has always been a great success
You can find many producers from Jumilhac and the surrounding communes there, also from the département and even from neighbouring départements.
They will be delighted to explain their products and invite you to try them.
Honey, fruit, vegetables, wines, flowers, etc., etc., await you on the stalls.
If you are a producer, mobile vendor or craftsman you can participate in these markets after filling in an application at the Mairie.
You must be registered in one of these categories and have third party liability insurance to have the right to take part.
The market is the unmissable sunday meeting place in Jumilhac!
History
After being run by the association that founded them, the markets was run for while by the Syndicat d’initiative.
Since 2001, it has been run by the town council, and from 2002 to 2011 had the title « Marché de Producteurs de Pays ».
Since 2010, this label no longer applies and the market will be called simply « Marché d’été de Jumilhac » (Jumilhac Summer Market).
In reality, this changes nothing - the participants are still the same, faithfull right from the start.
