Voting rights
If you are a national of a European Union country such as the UK, then you have the right to vote in Municipal and European elections, not however in départemental, parliamentary or presidential elections.
You must register to claim the right to vote.
Registration is simply a matter of filling in a 1 page form at the Mairie and providing proof of identity (passport) and residence (electricity or phone bill at your current address). Once registered you will automatically receive notification of dates and times of elections and also receive copies of candidates communications.
Note : You cannot have the right to vote in local elections in two places. If your address in Jumilhac is a second home, then you must decide on which is your primary residence. If you live more than 183 days per year in Jumilhac then you acquire the right to vote here (and also the right to pay french income tax) but must renounce your right to vote in local elections at your UK address. If you live fewer than 183 days in Jumilhac, then you continue to vote in UK local elections but cannot vote here.

The odd gem will be published here from time to time....
Conversion for fuel consumption : Divide your figure into 280. It's that simple!
Example : 7 ltrs/100km : 280/7 = 40mpg
Or if you drive a BIG truck : 10mpg : 280/10 = 28ltrs/100km
