Education
Introduction
The Jumilhac primary school has consisted of 3 classes since the start of the 2010 school year. There is one
infants class and two primary classes.
Like the vast majority of rural schools in Dordogne, Jumilhac school is paired with another school, that of
St Paul la Roche, in an RPI (Regroupement Pédagogique Intercommunal) which allows us to accomodate all the children
in five viable classes (two at St Paul).
Buildings
The pupils are housed in three buildings:
- The oldest, (the former boys school), recently completely renovated, houses the infants class.
- The highest building, not currently used for classes, but houses two modernised multi-purpose halls houses used for english lessons, videos, crafts and indoor physical education.
- The furthest building, joined onto the covered play area, houses the classes CE2 and CM.
Numbers
The division of pupils into classes can change each year as a function of numbers. In general, each school has
an infants class; the second class at St Paul la Roche is at CP and/or CE1 level (CE2 when necessary).
In 2010-11 the RPI as a whole has 103 pupils of which 74 are taught at Jumilhac and 29 at St. Paul.
The breakdown of the classes is as follows: br>
- Infants entry and intermediate sections at Jumilhac with Mme Dardillac
- Older Infants section at Saint Paul with Melle Bourinet
- CP - CE1 at Saint Paul with Mme Delprat
- CE2 - CM1 at Jumilhac with M. Nicolas
- CM2 at Jumilhac with M. Merlet

at another school.

Advice « neighbourhood watch »
In our country districts with isolated locations, there are simple solutions to protect ourselves better against crime. Don't be indifferent, participate, be an alert neighbour. How? By simply looking out for unusual actions and movements with no apparent good reason, note the registrations of suspicious vehicles and pass the information informally to the police. The simple act of noting registrations often disturbs people who intend harm. By so doing you may have prevented a theft from taking place. Tomorrow the victim could be you - so be neighbourly for your personal security and that of your property. It's a citizen's duty. Thank you in advance for your help.
New means of communication
As of now you can contact the gendarmes by internet. Note, you cannot make a formal complaint by email. You have the option to send information (regarding neighbourhood watch for example) or to alert the gendarmes when you are away (to ask for extra attention) or to ask for information, using the address below :
Email : cob.thiviers@gendarmerie.interieur.gouv.fr
Try to be precise in your requests. A reply will be sent as soon as possible.
